Theres
a special place for our youngest children to be cared
for (from infants to children 3 years old) while their parents are attending worship services
or are serving or participating in other church ministries. We consider children precious gifts from God and take the responsibility of caring for them seriously.
Staffing
The
facilities are staffed on Sunday mornings beginning at 9:35 am
during the education hour and also during the 11:00 am worship service until 12:15 pm.
On Wednesdays, the nursery is open from 6:30 pm to 8:40 pm to provide childcare for parents serving or participating in ministries.
A staff person is regularly assigned to the area to
provide a familiar and happy face to greet the children and parents.
Each parent is asked to serve in the nursery area to provide a staffing ration of 5 children to 1 adult. All volunteers who serve are required to complete an application and training in Oak Haven's Abuse Prevention Plan.
Room assignments:
Nursery
The nursery is provided for newborn infants up to 12 months. This is a cozy room filled with soft colors. The room is equipped
with cribs, a rocking chair and a changing area. This is a quiet area for nursing mothers and sleeping babies.
Sunshine
Our 1 to 2 year olds play in a sun filled room that is equipped with books and toys that are age appropriate. Simple Bible stories and songs will be shared with the children.
Rainbow
The 2 and 3 year olds are in the large front part of the room. This area is filled with toys and activity centers for free play and allows them to move about safely. Bible stories and an activity are shared with this group to teach them the love of God.
Nursery Security
When you bring your child to the nursery a name tag will be placed on the child and the parent(s). The parent(s) must have this tag when picking up their child. They are also required to sign each child in and out of the room. Pagers are availabe for parents who would like to use them as well. Each item left (blankets, bottles, nuk, etc.) needs to have the child's name on.
Well Baby Policy
Our nursery operates on a "well baby" policy. Please do not bring your child if any of these symptoms are present: fever, cough, diarrhea, impetigo, questionable rashes, unclear runny nose, or any contagious illness being treated with antibiotics for less than 24 hours.
Contacts
